Women Empowerment Wednesday is movement where one woman empowers another woman to follow her dreams.
This months Women Empower Wednesday is on Victoria Deborah a young christian athlete and entrepreneur. She’s all about her faith, her fitness and her business.
Describe your self in 3 words?
Zealous, Funny, Approachable
What do you do?
Currently moved to London, trying to start up my online coaching & 1-1 PT sessions down here. Whilst also working on other business prospects.
What or who has influenced you to go down that road?
Fitness has always been my passion. Started with track&field to now weight lifting. My degree is also in Sports Science.
What path did you take?
I attempted many sports growing up. It allowed me to know from very early on what I liked & disliked. I took the tech path first, as that was something I thought I wanted to do. When It came to lifting it was new but not so much. I knew how much training helped my life mentally & physically and how much more confident it gave me. I wanted to help others feel like that also through keeping fit.
What have you learnt so far?
I’ve learnt that, your first plans aren’t always the best plans, & may not be THE plan. So consistency is Key! I have changed my mind about what I’ve wanted to do so many times. I’ve also learnt as with anything else it is not easy but it is worth it. Stay committed. The commitment you learn from fitness training transfers through to all aspects of your life. So don’t just see it as it remains in the gym, you are training more than just your body in that place.
What has been your biggest challenge?
My biggest challenge has been, firstly consistency, we tend to let our troubles effect us so much. Secondly, comparison; we all want to pretend it doesn’t happen but it does. My news feed is full of fitness people (I like it like that) but it can really put you in a place of comparison thinking you’re not looking good enough or not doing enough because you’re seeing others.
How do you keep yourself motivated?
For me, is my Faith of course. In times of doubt and frustration, I give it all to God. But I also look at how far I’ve come. I look at the times when I knew I was on fire for God & gym and the results that came with it, kept me going. But sometimes it’s also about taking a step back, chilling out a bit and not forcing yourself to do something you don’t have to. Don’t over work.
Whats’s your opinion on a healthy lifestyle?
Of course I would think it’s very important, because it is. It’s not only for aesthetic reasons but also for mental and psychological reasons too. I’ve been able to make some of the biggest decisions and think things through in the gym whilst working out. When you lead a healthy lifestyle you feel it. You sleep better, you move better everything becomes better. It’s not just for vanity.
How often do you exercise?
Well I currently live in apartment with a free gym so, everyday if I could but no. When I’m following my plan it’s 4 times a week.
What fitness advice should our #Daofitnessbabe community avoid?
Avoid comparison! It’s destroying and becomes detrimental to your motivation and growth. Be proud of your progress & be happy with it.
Name three foods you couldn’t live without?
PIZZA! (I love it way to much) & Chicken and I’d say rice. I had rice a lot growing up and still do eat a lot of rice.
What book(s) do you suggest our #daofitbabe community should add to their reading list?
I would suggest the Holy Book aha but other good reads are: Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso, The 10X Rule by Grant Cardone, I’d advice to check out all his books, they’re really good.
Any last words of wisdom?
I would say trust the process and have faith in everything you do in life. Faith is POWERFUL, so just continue to believing and you will eventually achieve it.

My black nike Leggings, just because I can wear it with anything, so I do.

My quads, they’re all very responsive to weights.
What does your future look like and what’s next?
I will see where my online coaching & 1-1 personal training takes me, but the plan is not for that to be the only thing I’m doing. I’ve already got other stuff planned so I won’t give anything away just yet. Wait and see. Victoria is so much more than just gym life 🙂
